Our client is looking for an experienced Housing Project Coordinator

Main purpose of post
The post holder will manage a portfolio of projects from across Housing Services.
They will work closely with stakeholders within Housing, across the council and
externally to manage the delivery of both capital and service improvement projects.
They will manage and take responsibility for projects according to an effective
governance structure, ensuring that projects have clear deliverables and that
milestones are monitored and any issues and risks are highlighted to project
sponsors and other key stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities
1. To develop individual project plans and lead on the implementation, working
with the programme delivery manager, stakeholders and colleagues to ensure
that service plans and programmes deliver maximum benefits through
successful implementation.

2. To manage a portfolio of major improvement and estate based improvement
projects from identification through to completion, defining the project scope,
goals and deliverables including development, planning, briefing, execution of
work co-ordination.

3. Take responsibility for day to day identification and resolution (or escalation)
of project issues and management of risks, supporting the management of
project interdependencies.

4. Be responsible for progress monitoring and reporting of all projects, and
implementing good practice project change control and quality management.

5. To maintain effective liaison with the business other project managers and
the programme manager, ensure alignment of objectives between projects
and with the business high level strategic objectives.

6. Produce papers, briefing notes and all relevant project documentation to
ensure tight and controlled governance of every project.

7. Set up clear communication channels with all stakeholders for a given project,
ensuring expectations are clearly managed. Where appropriate, to establish
and chair project boards with appropriate and proportionate representation from
suppliers, customers, and other key stakeholders.

8. To deputise for the Project Manager as required.

9. To work flexibly in undertaking the duties and responsibilities of this job, and
participate as required in multi-disciplinary cross-department and cross organisational
groups and task teams.

10. To take responsibility, relevant to the post, for ensuring that Council statutes
and government legislation is upheld. This includes, amongst others;
Management Compliance Charter, Environmental Policy, Data Protection Act,
Single Equalities Scheme, Quality Assurance Plan, Health & Safety,
Sustainable Construction and Recycling.

11. Take responsibility, appropriate to the post, for ensuring compliance with
council policies and procedures aimed at promoting and safeguarding the
welfare of vulnerable children and adults.

12. To take responsibility, appropriate to the post for tackling racism and promoting
good race, ethnic and community relations.
