Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Business Partner.
On site 2-3 days per week.
Rate is flexible, please put the rate requested by the candidate on the CV. The need to have District or Borough Council experience.

Essential Requirements
– Must be a fully qualified accountant and basically be hands on and willing to unpick lots of issues and to work with the service managers, to guide train and ensure they understand finance.
– This is not just a ‘retrospective bookkeeping role’ – it’s getting to grips with each serve that one of the Service Directors have and to ‘unpick, understand and report to the Dpty S151 officer all issues and present them to S151 and the SLT – as required
– Must have sufficient and recent experience in District and Borough Councils
– For the first couple of weeks will need to be on site in Rugby probably for at least 4 days each week – so that they can understand what is going and to meet all the relevant people
o After that it will need a weekly on site presence of 2 or 3 days – depending on business need
Just to be clear If you are up for a challenge then this could be the role for you, this is more than just a routine business partnering role this is one that you can get stuck into, be value adding and actually make a difference and you may even be asked to contribute to all the changes that are coming due to LGR. This not ‘just report what’s in the system’ – it’s very many hands-on adding value providing property and full guidance including:-
o Understanding each service
o Identifying issues
o Setting up robust forecasting – but also understanding what is changing and all the implications
o Understanding and identifying transformation opportunities
o Identify areas of overspend and understanding why this is happening and what needs to be done to stop this
o Identifying areas of savings
§ Working through with services to calculate and savings and implications
o Undertake a full budget build for the services you are aligned to – feeding into the overall MTFS
o Monthly and Quarterly reporting
§ Delta and there returns
o Proactively horizon scanning
o Anything else that is required to be picked up
