Our client is looking for an experienced Advice and Information Officer

At least 2 days per week office based
To effectively respond to adult social care enquiries received within the Adult Social Care Advice and Information Service. To undertake such follow up work, by adopting a strength based approach to contacts, in order to ensure customer satisfaction in reaching a conclusion. This role involves liaising with other sections as needed in accordance with procedures or instructions.

To receive, triage and resolve adult social care enquiries using a strength based approach, helping people to help themselves either face to face, in writing or by telephone.
Provide information and signposted advice to customers about the range of voluntary sector partners and other appropriate community services to help increase levels of customer independence.
Be familiar with the range of community based support services to help people become more independent, including equipment
Promote and deliver the highest standards of customer care, which includes offering a professional, friendly, courteous service to contacts
To complete delegated work tasks thoroughly and timely, and using own initiative, seeking guidance as required
To record relevant information given by customers on the care management system, including advice provided to solve the problems
Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with procedures, agreed time scales and those dictated by legislation.
To understand and convey the meaning of complex care procedures and processes to people making contact to help with decision making
Ensure all necessary action is taken to deliver and administer services efficiently and effectively.
Participate in outreach work such as customer surgeries as required.
Prepare records and statistics as and when required.
Maintain a good working knowledge of all relevant systems within adult social care.
Be alert to potential safeguarding concerns, including the role of the police, and take the right actions
Be alert to emergency care situations and take the right urgent actions
Promote and implement the Councils Equalities and Diversity Policies.
Liaise with all relevant sections in the Council and external agencies as required.
Take responsibility for own learning and development
Participate actively in all processes linked to the Performance Evaluation Scheme
To assist with the training of new members of staff as required.
Comply with Health & Safety policies and practices, ensuring that safe working practices are adhered to.
Assist in carrying out the Council’s environmental policy within the day to day activities of the post.
Carry out other duties as required within the scope of the post, and on occasion to work in other areas of the business
Carry out the duties of the post with an understanding of and commitment to customer care and the Council’s and Department’s customer care policies.
Comply with Data Protection legislation and maintain client confidentiality.
Engage with effectively with online technologies to process contacts effectively.
